A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Michael
received a Masters Degree in Art History from Auckland University. He
has over 15 years experience in the business of Fine Art, and has worked
with dealers in New Zealand, Great Britain and the United States. In
2004 he branched out and started dealing exclusively in tribal art,
specializing in Oceanic Art and 19th Century Photography of peoples from
the South Pacific. Michael participates in a number of Tribal Art
Fairs, including the San Francisco and New York Tribal Art Shows and the
Whitehawk Ethnographic Show in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Hamson Oceanic Art/Material Culture is a private gallery dealing in museum
quality art primarily from New Guinea. With a Masters degree in African and
Oceanic Art History and years of field experience in the most remote areas of
New Guinea.
The only Primitive Art gallery in
