Extremely rare standing female ancestor figure
collected from the Ahe tribes of central Borneo.
This hampatong tajahan was kept inside the familial house
with
an other male figure to commemorate deceased relatives and protect the clan from
malevolent spirits, the removable armes are missing and the large ear lob with iron rings still attached. Carved from a single piece of
ironwood with a deep black patina of age. Height : 100 cm / 39 inch
