Hampatong - Dayak Ahe - Borneo

Extremely rare standing male ancestor figure
collected from the Ahe tribes of central Borneo.
This hampatong tajahan was kept inside the familial house
with
an other female figure to commemorate deceased relatives
and protect the clan from malevolent spirits, the removable armes are
missing and the large ear lob with iron rings still attached. Carved
from a single piece of ironwood with a deep black patina of age. Height : 110 cm / 43 inch
Weight : 16 kg (including iron display stand)
