Standing male ancestor figure
recently collected from the Punan tribes of west Borneo, Kapuas river.
This "Hampatong tajahan" showing traces of erosion at the top and the bottom with a superb patina of old wild white paint melting all around was carved from a single piece
of ironwood and was
erected to commemorate a deceased relative.Height : 160 cm / 63 inch
